Launch of one of the leading historical-critical editions of German literature as a digital edition
The Marburg Büchner Edition (MBA) is a highly complex, annotated, historical-critical edition. This was already true for the print version (2000 to 2013) and has been further enhanced in the digital edition, released on November 10, 2025, by the possibilities of digital presentation.

Research on preserving Nubian culture
Since early October, Mazen Alaa Eldein, project manager in Nubian geographic projects, has been a research fellow at the Trier Center for Digital Humanities (TCDH). His work at the TCDH, he explains, “is all about action and accessibility, stemming directly from the work we do at Nubian Geographic.”

Arthur Schnitzler – digitally published ‘Flucht in die Finsternis’
Making Arthur Schnitzler's works and the history of their creation digitally accessible to the public and researchers is the goal that scientists at the University of Wuppertal are pursuing with the online portal ‘Arthur Schnitzler digital. Digital critical edition (works from 1905 to 1931)’ in collaboration with international partners. They have now added a new work to the platform.

Congratulations on Passing the Doctoral Examination!
Carolin Geib, former employee at the Trier Center for Digital Humanities, completed her doctorate on September 5, 2025, at the University of Trier in Department II, German Studies/Old German Philology, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claudine Moulin (primary supervisor) and Prof. Dr. Michael Embach (secondary supervisor).

Dr. Joëlle Weis Elected to the EADH Executive Committee
At the DH2025 conference in Lisbon, it was officially announced on 16 July 2025: Joëlle Weis has been elected to the Executive Committee of the European Association for Digital Humanities (EADH), alongside Anna Foka, Anna Maria Marras, and Jonas Müller-Laackman.

Version 3.2 of the Johann Caspar Lavater correspondence edition released
On July 15, 2025, with version 3.2, all letters from and to Johann Caspar Lavater imported into JCLB to date will be provided with the corresponding measurements. These can be found in the “metadata” of each letter. This means that the previous library desideratum concerning developments in the TCDH has been resolved.

Trier Digital - Making Change Visible
The project “Trier Digital - Making Change Visible” was realized by eleven students of the Master's degree course in Digital Humanities at Trier University in the winter semester 2024/25. Under the direction of Dr. Joëlle Weis and Dr. Élodie Ripoll, the project aims to document the development of the city of Trier in an interdisciplinary way and present it on various levels using digital methods.

Unsere Co-Direktorin Prof. Dr. Claudine Moulin mit dem Bundesverdienstkreuz ausgezeichnet
Auf Vorschlag von Ministerpräsidentin a. D. Malu Dreyer hat Bundespräsident Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier die Trierer Professorin Dr. Claudine Moulin mit dem Verdienstkreuz am Bande des Verdienstordens der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ausgezeichnet. Clemens Hoch, Minister für Wissenschaft und Gesundheit, überreichte, in Vertretung von Ministerpräsident Alexander Schweitzer, der Professorin für Ältere Deutsche Philologie im Rahmen einer Feierstunde die Auszeichnung. Ein besonderes Anliegen ist ihr die Vermittlung der Trierer Kultur- und Geistesgeschichte in die benachbarten Regionen und ihr Wirken für eine kulturelle Einheit über politische und administrative Grenzen hinweg, ein zutiefst „europäischer“ Gedanke.

Arthur Schnitzler Digital Presents One of the Author’s Most Brilliant Works: "Ich"
The goal of the online portal “Arthur Schnitzler Digital. Digital Historical-Critical Edition (Works 1905–1931)” is to make Arthur Schnitzler’s works and the history of their creation digitally accessible to the public and to researchers. This initiative is led by scholars from the University of Wuppertal in collaboration with international partners. The platform has now been expanded to include a new work.
