Joshgun Sirajzade studied Azerbaijani Philology and Turkology at State University of Baku (Azerbaijan) and Computer Philology at the University of Würzburg, where he obtained his Master’s degree in 2006. He then completed his doctoral under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claudine Moulin (German Studies) at Trier University. His dissertation, entitled "Das luxemburgischsprachige Oeuvre von Michel Rodange (1827-1876). Editionsphilologische und korpuslinguistische Analyse" was awarded the Prize of Freundeskreis Trierer Universität e. V. in 2014.

During and after his doctorate, Joshgun Sirajzade worked as a research associate and postdoctoral researcher at Trier Center for Digital Humanities and at the University Luxembourg. He participated in numerous externally funded research projects, particularly in the fields of Luxembourgish linguistics, corpus linguistics, and Digital Humanities. Alongside his research, he was deeply committed to academic teaching and the supervision of students.

We are grateful for the time we spent together, for his professional expertise, his openness, and the lasting contributions he made to our work and to our institute. His far too early passing fills us with deep sorrow. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his loved ones, and all those who were close to him.
