Digital new edition, electronic publication and information network of a Cologne city chronicle from the 14th century (with the kind permission of the Historical City Archives Cologne)
The new edition of the Nuwen Boych des Gerlach vom Hauwe, based on modern edition principles, is presented on this online platform. This text, written at the end of the 14th century, describes the events that led to a fundamental change in Cologne's city constitution in 1396. In addition to digital text publication, the platform also offers information on the text, its creation and its author. The information offered on the platform is to be gradually expanded in order to make the text accessible in as many aspects as possible.
The task of the employees of the TCDH was the coordination of the retro digitization, the XML labeling of the data material as well as the graphic conception and implementation of the UX design for the online platform.
