For this reason, a kick-off with a workshop and a ceremony will take place in Zurich at the Lavaterhaus, because today also happens to be J. C. Lavater's 281st birthday.

In addition to the text-critical, documented and indexed letter edition, Lavater's letter network with currently more than 11,000 letters as well as a short biography and numerous portraits will also be presented.

In the future, further correspondence will be added step by step and the portal will be functionally expanded. The Online Briefwechseledition is accessible from 15:30 this afternoon at the URL
