DARIAH Tutorial on Codicology
The basics of medieval manuscript studies are taught

A brief tutorial on the codicology of medieval manuscripts is now available online via the DARIAH-DE (Digital Research Infrastructure in the Arts and Humanities) website.
In consecutive steps, the tutorial both explains the basics of the codicology of medieval manuscripts and traces the development from medieval manuscript into the digital medium. Basic knowledge on codicology as well as the underlying technical standards are being conveyed. Additionally, a crash course explains how methods in the Digital Humanities change and enrich research in the field of codicology.
The tutorial is based on experience gathered in the projects “Virtual Scriptorium St. Matthias” and “eCodicology”.
