Remembering through Networking: Digital Collection Research
The networking of data is always also a networking of bodies of knowledge. In digital collection research, various technologies of referencing and relating open up possibilities for building a knowledge network that is searchable as needed, accessible in its entirety, and open enough to be integrated into a global network of knowledge. Cultural heritage and thus memory culture can thus be raised - at least in quantitative terms - to a previously unseen level. It remains a challenge to ensure that the large quantity of memory data is also accompanied by reliable and uniformly high quality.
The relation of collection data is often also the networking of different people working on these data sets. A network of collection data is thus always also an infrastructure task. In the panel, diverse perspectives on networking with different project and methodological backgrounds will enter into a dialogue.
