HERMES cordially invites you to the Meet & Greet 2025 - an event that makes it easier for anyone interested in pursuing a doctorate in the humanities or cultural studies using data science methods to take the first step towards finding supervisors for their project.

This format, moderated by Dr. Ruth Reiche and Johanna Konstanciak, offers you the opportunity to network with professors from various disciplines with expertise in the digital humanities. You can openly ask your questions about a doctorate in these fields and discuss them with experts in a relaxed atmosphere. Our aim is to give you valuable insights and feedback on your doctoral ideas - and in the best case, you will find your supervisor.

Schedule of the Meet & Greet:

Warm-Up

The Meet & Greet begins with a round of introductions in which all participants can get to know each other. In addition, the professors Prof. Dr. Aline Deicke (Philipps-Universität Marburg), Prof. Dr. Andrea Rapp (Technische Universität Darmstadt), Prof. Dr. Stefan Schmunk (Hochschule Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr. Malte Hagener (Philipps-Universität Marburg) will talk about their previous supervisory experiences and provide initial examples and inspiration for possible doctoral paths.

Speed-Dating with the Professors

Based on the concept of speed dating, we offer you the opportunity to talk to a professor individually. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your research ideas, receive feedback and find out whether a collaboration might be a good fit.

Conclusion

Participants can then continue to exchange ideas and network. We will moderate a short wrap-up and look forward to feedback.

Die Professor*innen:
