Connecting The Dots. Transdisciplinary and international conference of the DFG project Correspondences of the Early Romantic Period

The DFG project „Correspondences of the Early Romantic Period“, which has been based at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the Mainz Academy of Sciences and Literature and the Trier Center for Digital Humanities (University of Trier) since 2022, aims to systematically record epistolary communication processes and, in particular, the transfer of knowledge between the Romantics and their other correspondence partners between 1790 and 1802, historical network research and Romanticism research to systematically record epistolary communication processes and, in particular, the transfer of knowledge between the Romantics themselves and with their other correspondence partners between 1790 and 1802 for the first time, publish them digitally and evaluate them in terms of literary studies and network theory. This will open up a new paradigm for the study of letters and expand scholarly reflection on the theory and social practice of sociability in the early Romantic period.
