As part of the science year, the humanities and cultural studies research associations of the University of Trier present themselves with the initiative "Geistesblitze".

The Year of the Humanities was the eighth in the series of Science Years. The Science Years have been organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Science in Dialogue Initiative (WiD) since the year 2000 with changing focus areas.
