Student Assistant for Data Analysis
At the Trier Center for Digital Humanities (TCDH), we are involved in the description, classification, and automatic detection of critique in fictional narrative texts within the project “Modernity as Loss? Textual Structures, Variants, and Cycles of Literary Cultural Critique.” We are seeking a student assistant to support us 28 hours per month in the statistical analysis and visualization of data.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Statistical analysis of annotation data from the tool “Inception” in Python
- Data visualization in Python (including network models)
- NLP Standard Tasks
- Prospectively: experiments on automatic detection

Requirements & Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of Python
- Background in computational linguistics or Digital Humanities
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with complex data structures
- Accuracy, structured approach, independent work
- German language skills are an advantage
