The Academy of Sciences and Literature has founded an Academy Center for the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times (AMZ), which in future will coordinate and organize the interdisciplinary cooperation of research projects in this area.

The Academy of Sciences and Literature has founded an Academy Center for the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times (AMZ), which in future will coordinate and organize the interdisciplinary cooperation of research projects in this area. The Akademieprofessoren Dr. Natalia Filatkina (Professorship for Language and Culture of the Middle Ages at the University of Trier) and Dr. Dr. Steffen Krieb (Professorship for Medieval History at the University of Mainz).

The official opening event on April 17, 2019 will be devoted to the relevance of medieval and early modern research and is entitled ›Science vs. Fake News‹. In addition, the 1st AMZ forum is planned for the coming year, which will deal with the topic: ›Formeln, Muster, Konventionen. Grundlagenforschung zum kulturellen Erbe Europas im digitalen Zeitalter‹ beschäftigt.
