Information event for the DH: Ask Us Day

The University of Trier is organizing the "Ask Us Day" on Friday, April 28, 2017, at which the subject area Computational Linguistics & Digital Humanities will also present its Master of Science degree in Digital Humanities.

The Digital Humanities (DH) are a field of work and research with a future. As an interface between the humanities, computer science and computational linguistics, they break through disciplinary boundaries in an innovative way and create new approaches to subjects related to humanities and cultural studies. The aim is to complement conventional methods with computer-aided methods. In this way, original research questions can be formulated and new answers found.

Typical DH fields of activity are digital editions, online archives, web exhibitions and themed portals, virtual research environments and analysis tools, web-based databases, 3D visualizations and much more.

There is a need for digital humanists in cultural institutions (museums, archives, libraries, art galleries) as well as in research and development. Career opportunities also open up in the publishing and publishing industry, in the tourism industry or in authorities and other public service institutions.
