Title: The Alfred Escher Epistolary Edition: Aims, Methods, Findings

Ute Recker-Hamm introduces the hybrid edition of Alfred Escher’s exchange of letters with focus on technical aspects and computational-philological approaches. Mainly the online publication is taken into consideration here which distinguishes itself from other editions due to the various forms represented (critical, diplomatic, as facsimiles connecting texts and images), a chronology, and manifold interlinked registers of people and places. The applied methods and working techniques are introduced and both recent findings and more basic ideas are discussed. In the end, a prospect on future developments is given – suggestions from the audience are very welcome.

All guests are very welcome!
